We have a lot to offer

Volunteer-led rides

Our regular rides are open to the public by appointment only. The rides begin and end at DaySpring Senior Living at 6400 Cheyenne Trail in Plano. Their parking lot has ramp access to the Bluebonnet Trail. The rider is accompanied by two volunteers: one piloting the adapted bicycle and another riding a bicycle alongside as a safety. Friends and family are welcome to participate by bringing their own bike or they can hang out on the beautiful covered porch during the ride.

Borrow-a-bicycle

This program is currently available within Plano. We will arrange to bring the adapted bike to you and will train your family on the use of the pedal-assist bike. You'll get to keep it for a couple weeks until it's time to share the bike riding joy with another family. Please note: this particular adapted bicycle that is available for loan has a narrow seat; therefore, is only suitable for children or very small adults. Also, you must have a secure, dry, indoor space for storing the bicycle when it's not in use.

Start your own program

If you are interested in having an adapted bicycle program in your community, we are happy to assist. If you are in Texas, there is a potential to operate as a chapter of the Lone Star Wheelers. If you are in another state, we have a step-by-step guide to help you start a program from scratch. We can also introduce you to other programs in the country doing similar work. It's a lovely community of volunteers sharing their love of cycling, nature, and giving back.
